Redevelopment That Adapts to Sophisticated Lifestyles - Lindell Marketplace
When Lindell Marketplace debuted in 1985 in St. Louis' Central West End, it brought much needed retail conveniences to the eclectic neighborhoods that surround a cluster of major healthcare research centers and hospitals. In the next 20 years, more and more creative housing options - including lofts and condominiums - lured professionals into the region and Lindell Marketplace needed a makeover to keep pace with a more sophisticated neighborhood customer base.
Located at 4171 Lindell Blvd., the 150,000-square-foot retail center is anchored by a Schnucks food and drug store. While the grocery store and adjacent shops revamp their interiors, THF lead a team that invested $500,000 in making the entire shopping center more inviting. That included resurfacing the parking lot, installing a new drainage system, removing outdated landscaping and planting new trees, and tuck pointing and repainting the exterior of the buildings. Today Lindell Marketplace hosts eight retailers with a fresh look that supports the momentum of new urban lifestyles emerging in the Central West End.
